Finance beyond the workbook.
What AI is genuinely useful in a finance function today, what isn’t, and how to be ready for the part that’s coming. And steps to take right now.
What we usually find
Everyone’s been told AI will change finance, but nobody’s quite sure what to try first.
Someone tried it once, the first answer was wrong, and that was the end of that.
The numbers live in a dozen places, so an AI tool only ever sees some of them.
What we do
Where AI can help in finance today, with the tools you already have.
Where to start
A look at your processes and your software, and one or two jobs worth trying first – usually the boring, repetitive ones, like drafting commentary or reformatting the same file every month.
Your data, ready for it
An AI tool can only work with what it can see. Getting the numbers into one place, current and right, is the same work that fixes reporting.
The tools you already have
Plenty of finance software can now connect to AI tools like Copilot or Claude. We’ll tell you which of yours can, and set it up so it only sees what it should.
Ground rules
What goes into an AI tool and what doesn’t, who checks what comes out, and who owns it – written down in plain English, so the answer isn’t just “no”.
Trying it properly
One job, on last month’s numbers, with a person checking every line. The first try is usually wrong; the value comes from keeping going and refining.
Training for the team
What the terms mean, what’s worth trying, and how to check what comes back – for a finance team, not a room of developers.
Zero to Claude for Finance
If your team uses Claude, or is about to, this workshop gets everyone set up safely, connected to the tools you already use, and doing one real piece of work in it.
It doesn’t get your data ready – that’s a different job, and the one that makes everything else work. But it’s a useful first step.
- £2,325 + VAT for up to 6 people
- All remote, over a few sessions
- Whenever suits you – we book it around your team
- A 30-day check-in included

How it goes
Fixed fee. Agreed before anything starts, including getting the data ready, which is the foundation of everything else.
Weeks rather than quarters. Something live and usable quickly, then built on.
Small first. One job that matters, done properly, before anything bigger – so you find out what works on your numbers, not in a demo.
AI in our own work. We use it on our own projects too, so we’re recommending what we’ve actually tried.
Out in the open. Everything runs through our project platform that you have access to, and calls are recorded and transcribed.
Find out where you stand on AI.
The Finance Check: AI for finance is a few minutes of multiple choice questions about your data, your tools and your team. You get a score, a view of how ready each of those is, and three things to do without us. No hype – some of the answers will be “not yet”.
At the end, if you’re based in the UK or Ireland, you can pick one area for a free hour of consulting time, such as a chat about where AI could help, with the tools you already have. If you’re a charity, it’s two hours.
No call required. Nobody rings you afterwards unless you ask them to.
Questions people ask
Have we missed the boat?
No. Almost nobody is as far ahead as LinkedIn makes it look, and most finance teams are only just starting. That’s not a reason to do nothing, though – one small job is a good start.
Is it safe to put our numbers into an AI tool?
It can be. It depends on the tool, how it’s set up and what goes in. We’ll help you decide what’s fine and what isn’t, and write it down, so people aren’t guessing.
Will AI replace our finance team?
Not in any finance team we’ve seen. It drafts, sorts and checks; people still decide what matters, and someone still has to be able to explain every number.
Do we need new core systems?
Often not. A lot of the software finance already uses can connect to AI tools, and the first job is usually finding out which of yours can.
Can you just help us get started?
Yes. Zero to Claude for Finance gets your team set up safely, connected to your tools and doing real work in it, for a fixed price. On Copilot or ChatGPT instead? Talk to us about options.
Where it connects
Most customers start in one and end up touching several.
Start with a conversation that has a scope.
Thirty minutes, free, and you’ll know by the end whether there’s anything here for you. Most of the organisations we speak with aren’t looking to buy anything right now – we’re happy to educate and inform, for when the time is right.
